painting the town green: a KC st. patrick's day

hi, everyone! hope you had a great week! it's been a weird week of storms, sun and generally spring-like weather. welcome to the midwest!

in light of being outside and soaking up every minute of nice weather, i was brought back to st. patrick's day last month and how beautiful (and FUN) it was. march 17th is my dad's birthday (seriously...best birthday every year!). rightly so, he and my mom always treat the day like a national holiday. this year, andrew and i were able to take the day off and help him celebrate along with some aunts, uncles and family friends. it was one for the ages!

we started our marathon day at browne's irish market, this adorable little restaurant/shop combo in downtown kansas city. it was an absolute blast! beer garden, live music and great company - can't really beat it!

this is the funniest game ever! these little male figurines, called 'drinking buddies,' are little friends that perch on the side of your drink and the last one standing wins! it's incredibly amusing, as you might imagine.

we spent the rest of the day navigating through the parade in the westport area of kansas city and ended up bouncing from kelly's to char bar, two of the our favorite places! what a day.
